Traditional statistics (inferential /Descriptiv )
Descriptive Statistics
Descriptive statistics summarize and describe the features of the dataset illustrated in the table.
Dataset Overview: The table provides data of 8 users with the following columns: Followers, Posts, Following, and Likes.
Mean (Average) Followers:
The average number of followers was 91.09375, that gives an overall idea about the users popularity level.
Median Posts:
The midpoint of the distribution of the number of the posts is 19.5, this number means that half of the users post more than this value, and the other half post less.
Mode of Following:
Most frequent value in a "Following" column is 0, which means, practically, users don’t follow anyone the most times (this is the case with Ajmal and Saif). The statistics illustrate the concepts of central tendency and dispersion of the users. For instance, one user (Khalid) has an extremely high number of posts (302), which has a disproportional effect on the dataset.
Inferential Statistics
Inferential statistics are applied to make estimations or detect the connections between the factors on the basis of the dataset. Though not the actual correlation coefficients are computed in the image, it is still possible to postulate likely relationships:
Posts vs Followers:
There is a possibility that a positive relationship might exist - users who post more (e.g. Khalid with 302 posts and 78 followers) might be more attractive to followers. In any case, Ajmal (400 followers, 0 posts) represents an exception to this trend, which implies that other variables like, for example, external influence, come into play.
Following vs Likes:
There seems to be no definite pattern at a first glance. Let us have a look on the example: Saqib follows 502 people and gets 19 likes, while Ajmal follows 0 and gets 18 likes. This indicates low or zero association between following and likes.
Followers' vs Likes:
The obvious conclusion would be that more followers mean more likes, however, this dataset reveals the opposite (Ajmal has 400 followers but only 18 likes). This can indicate that there is low engagement or that the followers are bots.
